Lucy Frazer replaces Michelle Donelan as Culture Secretary
The Prime Minister has announced the creation of four new departments and appointed a new Culture Secretary.
The changes mean the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is going back to becoming the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, losing responsibility for the Digital sector.
A new minister has also been put in charge, as Lucy Frazer is promoted to Culture Secretary replacing Michelle Donelan MP.
Lucy Frazer has been MP for South East Cambridgeshire since 2015.
Michelle Donelan becomes the brand new Science Secretary heading up the new Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
The change, announced on Tuesday afternoon, makes Lucy the 13th Culture Secretary in the last 13 years.
The PM says a re-focused Department for Culture, Media and Sport will recognise the importance of these industries to our economy and build on the UK’s position as a global leader in the creative arts.
With the approval of His Majesty The King, the Prime Minister has announced the creation of four new departments.
These departments will ensure the right skills and teams are delivering for the British people.
