Chelsea Norris leaves BBC Radio Manchester Breakfast
BBC Radio Manchester breakfast presenter Chelsea Norris has announced she’s leaving the station.
Chelsea has been on maternity leave for just under a year and was expected to return shortly.
Becky Want has been hosting breakfast for most of Chelsea’s absence, and the two spoke on-air this morning to address the question.
Chelsea revealed she’s not returning and will focus on her family and other areas of her life. She said: “I’m afraid I’m not (coming back). I’ve had so many people message me asking and it’s been really lovely but the last 12 months has changed all of us so I decided, for now, coming back isn’t right for my family.”
The former Key 103 presenter joined the BBC after leaving Bauer in 2016, first fronting a weekend show before becoming Drive Time presenter in February 2017.
Kate Squire, Editor of BBC Radio Manchester told RadioToday: “We will miss Chelsea hugely, both on the radio and at the station, but we know she will enjoy spending more time with her lovely family and we wish her every success with her exciting new adventure.”

What a lovely message from a lady that was in my bump club and pregnant at the same time I was with Barney.
This is what radio is all about. Connecting with people and making any difference you can.
