Radio Travel News launches audio bulletins service
A new company has been created to provide real-time audio travel bulletins to radio stations across the UK.
Radio Travel News will offer voiced regional and national bulletins to any radio station in the UK for a monthly fee.
Former INRIX client relations manager Andrea Day and RadioToday founder Roy Martin are behind the new venture, which is primarily aimed at providing the bulletins to non-RAJAR stations and the growing number of online and DAB services starting up.
Andrea Day comments: “Not only is this a service of benefit to listeners on the move, but also provides a premium sponsorship opportunity for stations to sell to their clients to more than cover the cost of buying it.”
The travel bulletins will be provided by an experienced team of broadcasters including Derek Webster on the morning shift and Helen Wakefield on afternoon drive, both of whom recently worked at INRIX before it made a large number of staff redundant in the summer.
Roy Martin added: “We’re launching with regional bulletins for London and the north west of England, which is ideal for any radio station either online, on AM/FM or DAB in those areas. We’ve also got our main national bulletin available from launch for UK-based music or specialist stations serving the whole country who would like to keep their listeners up-to-date with real time travel news.
“More areas will be added in the coming weeks and months as demand grows, and we’re looking forward to keeping the growing number of radio stations connected and moving forward.”
The service works via Dropbox and is available to preorder now for the bulletins starting on January 11th 2021.
From launch day on January 11th 2021, our national audio travel bulletin will be available for instant Dropbox delivery. Every 30 minutes at breakfast/drive, plus hourly during the day. Have a listen to a sample here & see more at https://t.co/qK0IIvOsxu https://t.co/F8ILvyzcBm
