Robert Nicholson appointed Director of Programmes at Whistledown Productions

Radio indie Whistledown Productions has appointed Robert Nicholson as its new Director of Programmes.
Robert, currently a Senior Editor based in the Berlin office, will lead the company’s factual slate supplying new stories and formats to broadcasters and podcast platforms across Europe.
The indie, which also has production bases in London and Glasgow, has been a supplier to BBC Radio for over twenty years, making regular programmes such as Radio 4’s Feedback, The Reunion and Over to You for the BBC World Service.
Nicholson’s work with reporter Nick Wallis, starting in 2020, exposed the many twists and turns of the Post Office’s IT scandal for the award-winning series The Great Post Office Trial and he also leads the team of producers working on Politico’s Westminster Insider.
“Robert has played a key role in strengthening the reach and impact of our journalism” says Whistledown’s Managing Director David Prest.
“Independent production companies have become leading forces in UK audio production, and I know that Bob shares Whistledown’s vision for the future expansion of the sector”.
