Management restructure at Virgin Radio means departure of Mike Cass

Virgin Radio’s Content Director Mike Cass is set to leave the station by mutual agreement following a review of the management structure.
He’ll leave the station, which he’s been running for seven and a half years, on April 11th.
Ellie Davis, recently named Deputy Content Director for Virgin Radio, and Stuart Davies, Virgin Radio Content Manager, will report directly to News Broadcasting Director of Audio Dennie Morris, going forward.
Mike Cass said: “Virgin Radio has given me some absolute career highlights and I’m very grateful to have been the latest steward of this iconic radio brand.
“My thanks go to the brilliant team across the Virgin Radio network, past and present, who have made the last seven and a half years so joyful.”
News Broadcasting Director of Audio Dennie Morris said, “Mike has been a truly inspirational member of the team in his time at Virgin Radio, nurturing and inspiring the next generation of broadcasters and leading the charge in making the network what it is today.
“Mike is a world-class talent and I wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
Scott Taunton, EVP President of News Broadcasting, said: “Mike has been pivotal to Virgin Radio UK’s success over the last few years. He has led the content strategy, expanding the network and bringing in a raft of top talent which in turn has driven audience engagement across digital audio – and increasingly – social platforms.
“I would like to thank Mike for his creativity, drive, innovation and contribution to my leadership team; as well as for creating such a strong and talented team at Virgin Radio UK.”
Mike has previously worked Bauer’s Big City Network, Galaxy Radio and Nova in Australia.
