Global Academy rated Outstanding in key areas by Ofsted

Global Academy, a media-focused school in Hayes, West London, has received high praise in its latest Ofsted inspection.

The report awarded Outstanding ratings for Sixth Form Provision, Behaviour and Attitudes, and Personal Development.

Inspectors recognised the school’s approach to combining academic learning with industry experience, highlighting strong student outcomes, vocational qualifications, and work placements.

The curriculum was described as “ambitious”, supporting career pathways in content production, digital media, journalism, music production, esports, and business media. Students benefit from experienced staff, extended work placements, and opportunities for further education, training, or employment.

The school’s Personal Development programme was rated as Outstanding, with inspectors praising its “exceptional quality”.

Students have access to a variety of wider opportunities, including radio broadcasting, podcasting, music production, and leadership roles.

Principal James Murray-Walsh welcomed the report as recognition of the contributions from staff, students, parents, and industry partners. Chair of Governors Kirsty Leith highlighted the school’s strong academic outcomes, enrichment opportunities, and industry connections.

Many Global Academy graduates have progressed to careers at leading UK media companies, reflecting the impact of integrating classroom learning with hands-on experience.
