Absolute Radio, KISS, KISSTORY, and Magic Radio to change to DAB+

Bauer Media Audio UK is moving Absolute Radio, KISS, KISSTORY, and Magic Radio to DAB+ from the end of March.

The four stations, which are currently in mono on original DAB, will make the switch on 31st March and are starting to communicate the news to listeners this week.

They’ll all become stereo as a result, to match other services on the multiplex operated by rival companies.

Peter Davies, Chief Operating Officer for Bauer Media Audio UK told RadioToday: “We continually review how we can improve our audience’s listening experience, and this simple change allows us to deliver higher-quality audio to more of our listeners.”

The move will free up space for more services on the national Digital One platform, and provide better sounds quality using lower rates.

Bauer has also recently been awarded local DSP licences for a number of spin-off services including Hits 90s, Hits 00s, Greatest Hits 70s, Greatest Hits 80s and KISS XTRA.
