BBC Radio 2 in the Park kicks off in Preston with final ticket giveaway

Radio 2 in the Park at Moor Park in Preston kicks off today, Friday 6th September with a Pre-Party this evening as presenters play tunes on the DJ stage.

Jeremy Vine and Richie Anderson were live on air in Preston earlier – and Radio 2 listeners based in the city were invited to call in when they heard Jeremy’s voice interrupt a song during the Breakfast Show for a chance to win tickets to the festival this weekend.

As well as introducing artists on the main stage and playing sets in the DJ tent, Radio 2 presenters will be broadcasting live from an on-site studio at Moor Park. Shows and sets will be available live and on demand on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer across the weekend and for 30 days afterwards.

Sting headlines the festival on Saturday night and Pet Shop Boys on Sunday night. Each of their headline sets will also be broadcast on BBC Two with Sting at 10:15pm on Saturday and Pet Shop Boys at 10pm on Sunday.
