Black Country Radio launches Black Country Xtra

Black Country Radio has launched Black Country Xtra – an online radio service that seeks to champion local creative, arts, culture, music and more.

Black Country Xtra will feature a range of shows including grassroots sports, music memories for dementia and health-related shows including mental health support.

Your Town will feature news and business information from towns across Dudley, whilst Your Community will give a radio platform to a wealth of community, arts and creative organisations from across the Black Country.

Billy Spakemon from Black Country Radio has been working hard behind the scenes to co-ordinate with a wide range of groups to get the service up and running and is delighted that this opportunity will shortly be available.

He says: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local communities, creative, arts and cultural, and charitable organisations to get involved and gives a valuable platform for the great work and creative talent across the Black Country.”

The station’s volunteers recently helped create new studios made possible with local funders and grants.
