George Godfrey gets the Radio X evening show
George Godfrey has been appointed as the full time host on Radio X’s evening show.
He had been filling in for Gordon Smart who took time off earlier this year for vocal cord treatment, but announced he wasn’t coming back earlier this month.
As a result, Jack Wood stays on the Sunday afternoon slot he’s been covering for George.
Matt Deverson, Managing Editor of Radio X, told RadioToday about the appointment: “George Godfrey is knowledgeable and passionate about the tunes he plays, and has championed artists new to our daytime playlist like Declan McKenna, Dermot Kennedy and Beabadoobee, making him a great fit for the Radio X Evening Show.
“I’m also pleased to confirm that Jack Wood will stay on Sunday afternoons from 1pm-4pm in addition to his regular Saturday afternoon slot on Radio X.”
Bit of news pals..
I'm taking over the @RadioX Evening Show full time! I'm so excited to follow on from so many legends before me and humbled to be given the opportunity. We start tonight at 7pm

It’s official, my little home on @RadioX is now permanently Saturday and Sunday 1-4pm.
It’s the coveted “can still go to the pub weekend slot” and I value it more then any future children.#WoodOnWeekends is a go go baby.
